The film
Synopsis
The story covers José's life, from his simple childhood in a community that lives in a remote forest, his forced change of home in a distant town with an unhappy existence and his eventual migration to the city. His life is intertwined with that of Mariano, his cousin. They treat each other like brothers, supporting each other, surviving as best they can in the face of the deficiencies caused by a racist society. Thrown into crime, they will eventually find themselves immersed in a labyrinth from which it is almost impossible to escape, and only one of them will be able to survive.

Since its founding in 2011, the BAP studio has produced numerous internationally awarded animated short films exhibited at festivals such as Annecy, Zagreb and Cannes. Currently, it is in the process of producing it's first feature film after having made sixteen shorts and three experimental films, seven of which are international co-productions. With strong partners in countries such as France, Croatia, Lithuania and Brazil, the studio's focus lies on valuing artistic work and promoting the creative vision of its authors.
Project based in Ciudade de Guatemala for the development of cinematographic works with special emphasis on animation, segments for short videos, or participation in feature films, using traditional techniques with a background and experience in the visual arts. In addition, experimental, non-conventional proposals and works that want to tell stories aware of their context.
Film production company based in Guatemala, founded in 2015. It has developed extensively in various film processes: script writing, direction, film direction and post-production, as well as conducting training workshops. Since 2016, it has been in charge of making documentaries for Fundabiem, a foundation known for its social and rehabilitation programs for people with reduced mobility. It has also provided support and advice to foreign investigative journalists for reporting.
About the production
TIERRA MILAGROSA is a feature film made and filmed in Guatemala and digitally animated using the rotoscoping technique in Portugal. A co-production between BAP - Animation Studios, Estudio Concordia and Anarquía Visual, and with the support of IBERMEDIA NEXT. It is currently in the development phase.
